Development Experience
The theme for the 2020 Global Game Jam was "Repair." I had the idea to make an orbital-based puzzle platformer for a while, though it was only until after the jam theme was revealed that I got the idea to make it about collecting broken fragments of the moon.
Out of all of my game jam projects, I would consider Moonblast as my most mechanically polished game. While the later levels in Moonblast are pretty difficult, I had enough time to ensure that they were possible and fun to play, unlike my previous projects, which often had some level design issues.
My only real complaint with Moonblast is that I didn't have enough time to make sound effects. Even then, I think the visual flair and design polish more than make up for that.
